About Anna

Anna Weightman creates figurative sculptures in clay for casting in bronze. She nearly always works in collaboration with a model or using herself. She depicts real life attitudes in their ordinariness as well as extremity.

Many of Anna’s models are her own children

Anna was born in 1964 in Kent. She obtained a science degree from Kings in London and later, studied sculpting at Morley College, London. She is inspired by Tom Greenshields and has since studied under well-known sculptors including John Doubleday, Philippe Faraut and Victor Issa.

“I love the wordlessness of beauty. We can feel it without the intercession of language.”

Anna has exhibited in galleries and shows across the UK as well as in Brussells, Berlin and Hesse. Sales are generally to private individuals with some commissions. Endearingly, some buyers have said that Anna’s bronzes remind them of themselves at a critical lifepoint. Many have wanted to buy one to give to someone as a gift.

Anna does selectively take commissions, so if you like what you see here but would prefer something different, feel free to get in touch.
