As the river surrenders itself to the ocean, what is inside me moves inside you.
~ Kahlil Kibran
This piece was a venture into self-indulgent abstract work.
Review from a customer: “I touch this sculpture and I feel my man. I feel him enveloping my body with his strength. I feel arms that protect me and that at the same time reveal my sexuality. My sexuality blossoms, my nakedness does not embarrass me because I feel his love.”
- these are the words of a woman who was gifted Surrender by her lover.

... To melt and be like a running brook
that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own under-
standing of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
~ Kahlil Kibran

...give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit ...

I like to sit by the fire and stare
At the curious things I can see in there;
It’s better than pictures in a picture book
To sit by the fire and look and look.
~ Irene and Aubrey de Selincourt

Zoë is a tomboy. Through her childhood, she enjoyed rolling under hedges, racing with the boys, beating them at tree-climbing.

The bronzes of Eloise and Zoë were sculpted by modelling real-life sisters. Born 2 years apart, they remain inseparable. The girl who modelled for Eloise has a quiet, thoughtful nature. As an accomplished painter herself, she was sympathetic to the sculpting process and intrigued by the finished bronze.
We can see that she and her sister, Zoë are engrossed in conversation.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.
~ Robert Frost

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Anna Weightman usually begins by sculpting the nude. This enables accurate depiction of the shapes and attitude. She dresses the finished nude as the last process so cloth drapes naturally on the body.
In the case of Alexander, both nude and clothed versions are available.

Sculpting in clay is a delightfully slow process.
Anna and Emma enjoyed spending time together. The modelling process is a hospitable invitation to discover ideas and explore emotional landscapes.
